[emoji12] I told him in 12 years of reefing, I've only siphoned my sand for 2 years and I felt like it caused me more instability than it fixed. So I stopped messing with my sand from that point on. For full disclosure, none of my sandbeds have ever made it past 3 years as I've always upgraded tanks before that mark. There's still time for me to crash and burn in a couple of years and eat crow. That leads to a great question, is it better in reefing to have great equipment, or great reef keeping skills? If you could only have one, which one is more important? [emoji4]

I don't see any other issues with your fish stock list other than be careful with angels, depending on what corals you want to keep.

Just for perspective, I try to always test between batches of reagent and I sometimes get the same discrepancies people have been posting for the differences between the old reagents and the replacement reagents. Usually a variance in the neighborhood of +/- 0.25. We are working with hobbyists grade kits here, not quite the accuracy you'd get in a lab.

I'm more the mad biologist these days. Corals are all back in the tank and everything is on autopilot again. Now I have to work on how to reintroduce my current fish population on March 3, QT some new additions, and somehow get them all back into the tank without overloading the nutrient processing capacity of the system too quickly while also preventing all out warfare between the old fish and the newer additions. For instance, if I add my purple tang back in first, then the later addition of a powder blue will cause a war. If I put my emperor angel back in first, the addition of a majestic angel will cause a war. I've got some planning to do! I think I'm going to have to make a chart detailing the reintroduction schedule for my fish.

It grows like a giant ball so the diameter makes it more difficult to cut with just a dremel disc. With recent reclassification, the alveopora is actually considered more closely related to acropora than goniopora (flowerpot). Blew my mind when I read this. Convergent evolution showcased at its best in nature! It's got the look of goniopora but without the inherent difficulties that gonis are known for. It's super hardy, at least in my experience, and tolerates a lot of conditions.

It's interesting that even with the multitude in your tank, that some bubble and some do not. Very interesting!

Welcome! I put them between pretty docile like the fairy wrasses and overly aggressive like the non-reef safe wrasses. They are somewhere in between.

If your tank is not covered, put the screening over it. I wouldn't buy any more until you've done that. It's not a matter of if, but when a wrasse will jump.
