  1. Yeah, when I had setup my phone (setup meaning wedged it between a drill and a mallot on top of a 5-gallon bucket on top of two sawhorses), I hadn't realized that the angle was going to give you a great view of my back. That's why I followed up with a closer-in shot with all the action. This was all done in one take folks! No re-recording here! Looking back at the close-up sawing action, I was like... I think some people are going to be squeemish thinking I'm about to lose a finger so I made sure to write that quick note that the blade couldn't really cut flesh. If you go to the SoaSA swap there will be a frag tank there with a bunch of them in it! I'll try to make an effort to sell some locally as well but meeting people individually is just too time-consuming these days sadly. Fall frag swap in Austin anybody? I'll let people know when I'm able to make the next monthly meeting. I can't make this month's unfortunately. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to check them out! Haha Cliff! I think that colony is about 4-5 years old. It grew from a two-headed frag my brother dumped on me when he got out of the hobby. I didn't even want it but he said he would start his tank back up so I held on to it. After 4-5 years, I'm thinking he's not getting back in now so chop-chop time. Unfortunately though, my wife got attached to it so now I was voluntold to keep one frag.
  2. Sent you an email sir! Welcome to the professional members club!
  3. Is that a new shag rug? No... It's a Duncan rug. [emoji23]
  4. I appreciate the feedback!I wanted to incorporate more background music but I don't really keep a collection of background music, tracks, and sounds. What do amateur/professional film folks use for music samples and such? Is there a service I can pay to have access to that? I wasn't sure how much I actually wanted my face in the video. It's a face only a mother could love. Framing is so difficult with just using a phone. I get no visual feedback to see if I'm even in the frame. I guess I could always hook it up to a small TV and be able to see myself recording... myself. [emoji4]
  5. Oh, quick note. This was done entirely on my phone. The entire process from shooting the video to editing it was completely accomplished on my phone. Don't you just love technology!
  6. Hey ARC, My goal when I got a better phone was to start recording some instructional/informative videos for the club. Here I am living up to my goal. Don't be too harsh on me. This was my first foray into recording one of these videos and also my first hand at editing a video. Enjoy! -Ty
  7. You mean it's about to throw up from looking at my face too long Tim? [emoji14]
  8. Hey I know you love your phone but in case you didn't know... http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/2/12767670/samsung-galaxy-note-7-recall-fire-risk You just want your corals to explode, not yourself. Yeah, I saw that the other day. I haven't received any official correspondence to do anything yet from Samsung. My hope is it blows a hole in my pocket and I get a big payout from Samsung for it that I'll allocate to my next tank upgrade. [emoji6]
  9. Hello ARC family, I need your guys help. It's very important and I would like the opinions from the best of the best of reefers... which is why I am polling this wonderful group. Which video is more pleasing to you eyes? Please vote in my poll at the top of the page. For you tapatalk users, it means you may have to login on a desktop! 1080p @ 60 fps 4k @ 30 fps Like I said, very important... we're talking changing the scope and direction of my video recording habits for the next couple of years!
  10. Thanks for reminding me of my roots Jim!
  11. Hah nice. I thought about bringing in my bandsaw from my woodshop when I fragged my frogspawn. Mine's not near as portable as that one though! The big worry I'd have with that is the rust involved. I've tried using just household tools and everything I use eventually starts to develop rust over time... even my dremel.
  12. Wouldn't behind a structure be ideal for a pump that is not directional? That way it disperses the flow on the sides and top while directly behind the structure and not seen?
  13. Any way you can hide an MP40 behind each rock structure so you can't see any pumps on the back wall? I think it would look really nice with a clean back wall... gives you that negative space.
  14. I wonder what this is? Spawning? Eggs? Air bubble?
  15. Is that Jose-wan Kenobi speak for save me a frag? [emoji4]
  16. The frags after I put them back in the tank initially.
  17. Only because you complimented the music track will I overlook the fact that you watched a FarmerTy video without audio... [emoji6]
  18. Hmmm.... probably about 4-5 years?
  19. I made the decision to go ahead and frag my duncan colony and get rid of it. That is until the wife noticed I did that and made me keep the largest frag because she liked it. Sigh... Duncan colony Frags only 4-5 hrs after they were cut with the Gryphon Saw I'll have some of these available at the SoaSA swap on Sept 11th in San Antonio!
  20. We have Buggy the midas blenny, Flamey the flame angel, Blue the blue hippo, clowney the clownfish, and Goggles the flame hawkfish. My wife just names them by physical description if you can't tell.
  21. Yes it has and I sold it. Pricey little guy though. [emoji4]Dibs on next split!!You might want to look up how much one costs. I'd say only hardcore anemone collectors are the ones who like burning a hole in their wallet for one of these guys. [emoji4]
  22. Yes it has and I sold it. Pricey little guy though. [emoji4]
  23. I only ask because there's very few originators of a Sunburst anemone. I only know of the Colorado one and also Sexy Corals sells one too.
