  1. Awesome! People can camp out on the beach, however, we stayed in a hotel
  2. We walked out to the end of the jetty and took nets (with the small holes) and head lamps. When you shine the flashlight into the water, you can see the peppermint shrimps red eyes glowing. They like to hang out around the edge of the rocks. It was pretty fun
  3. Peppermint shrimp, blennies, anglers, you can also catch damsels, though we threw those back in...someone also caught an urchin.
  4. We had such a great time on our Port A trip collection trip last year that we figured we'd do it again this year. Right now we are looking at the weekend of July 15th. I know that MAAST usually has their collection trip in July, but with Chad's work schedule and his co-workers taking vacation, we figured we'd plan for this weekend. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of friends hanging out and having fun. Anyone is welcome to join us...the more the merrier If you are interested in attending or have any questions, please post here.
  5. I will take them if lamont doesn't...i would like them for my solana...thanks
  6. I agree with Russell. With the new rock work and new surroundings, they should be perfectly fine in the 280. I would even try to put all your tangs in at around the same time.
  7. Don, Put us down for a bucket of Coralife. Chad
  8. Glad to hear you guys had a great time!! We can't wait to head to SA for the frag swap and to visit some of the LFS there again.
  9. Welcome James. My husband and I are MAAST members also. Check Aquatek and Fishy Business.
  10. Welcome Rob. Nice to have yet another MAAST member here.
  11. 1 MP40 in a 34 gallon. Flow is good to go. lol I'll double check the levels. Flow is good. Lights are on for 6 hours per day. All we have are T-5's now but I'm going to do a black out and cut the lighting back a bit after that. We have drastically cut back on the feeding but only after these issues came about. Guess I need to keep doing water changes to "clean out" the water. We are still using the MP 40. I have it on wave motion. I think because the Solana is packed a lot more than it should be, combined with over feeding and some of the crashes we have had I think we need to get in there and clean the sand and rock of detritus. Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. I'm going to try out the suggestions and see how it goes.
  12. We've had this red stuff in our solana for the last month or so. We thought it was red slime, so we used the red slime remover and it didn't do anything (it works really good when we've had red slime in the past). We keep doing weekly water changes and can't seem to get rid of it. It gets all over everything and I keep using a turkey baster to get this stuff off my corals and a few hours later, its all over everything again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  13. I recently lost my Uncle Mario to heart disease. Our son trying to raise money to help fight heart disease. Will you help?
