Do some searches on "heater", this debate has come up many a times. I am now in the "no heater" camp. I had one go haywire on me, so I took it out and never put it back in my 75g. And I have not put one in since (I would have to look when I actually took it out, but feels like about 1.5 years ago). I haven't checked my temp in quite a while, but everything is thriving very well. I think you are on the right track by taking queues from how your tank is actually behaving.

Not sure it is relevant anymore, as the article is over 2 years old. A flag went up when it said the LED market had stalled ... and I was like what?? That is all I see now

I think Brooks has it right. It looks like part of the acan. Corals can extend themselves to attack other corals. And by extending, I mean basically spit out their intestines to consume other things (the white stringy stuff).

Mr Saltwater Tank (our own @mcallahan) has switched over to LEDs, and has a few shows about them. He has this really sweet programmable one that allows you to set intensity and color. Might check out his shows.

Back when you originally posted, this was the "Free/Trade" forum. At the beginning of the year, this changed to just "Free". I had some naked clowns, and yes they were probably my most favorite. I have had various maroons over the past, and they all turn out mean.

Nice pictures. But you show why I am done with clownfish in a tank without an anemone. I had a maroon who decided to host in some duncans and bothered them so much they wouldn't open.

Yeah, I had a Flame that was well behaved. And I wouldn't mind if an angel nibbled on some Kenya tree, I have plenty of it I just need to to have nature take care of my two devil damsels, and I can add fish again. I tried traps, and all that resulted in was a halloween crab getting frustrated and an euclid worm stealing part of the bait.

Beautiful coloring on that angel! I would love to get an angel again... though with a clam, my choices are limited.

Right off the top of my head, angelfish are known sponge eaters.
