  1. Hmm... maybe They are sliced and diced, and are healing ... I saw some polyp extension today on most of the pieces. I need to keep an eye on them as one of the samllest ones came unglued. I might have to tie them down if it happens to the larger pieces.
  2. Live rock, and they are a good scavenger.
  3. *whine* But it is so faaaaar away *whine*

    Sun Polyps

They will eventually learn. Mine open up any time I feed pellets to my fish. And they generally open up about an hour or so before the lights go off.
  5. That is good to hear ... looking forward to them next week.
  6. I have one from Marine Depot (there is a group buy about to happen), and have not had any problems.
  7. Oh sure, this great shipment came in *after* I visited last weekend
  8. Will definitely post how I like them. And I echo Daniel's question. I was switching down to 14K's to get more growth... and specifically picked the Phoenix's because they are supposedly one of the bluest 14K's. Good suggestion on reducing the photo period... will do that. So you think just cutting the photoperiod is enough, and that I wouldn't need to filter the light additionally?
  9. I am using some of there products right now... let me dig up the list. Zooplanktos-M PhytoGold-M Strontion Magnesion If I remember correctly, Brightwell is ran by some former Kent employees. The Zoo and Phyto seem nice ... though I think once they are gone I will just use Reef Roids.
  10. Search for Seahorse Software in iTunes. Games (right now). BlackJack Run and Pyramid Solitaire are the two popular ones.
  11. At the bottom of the main index page. It is a link called "Today's active content", next to "The moderating team" link.
  12. Most definitely. Actually, I have been meaning to mention that anyone on this board interested in any of my programs are welcome to a free copy. Just PM what you are interested in and I will get you iTunes codes to download them.
  13. I have a dual bulb Coralife fixture, which has glass plates over each of the bulb sockets, which I believe are UV protected. In addition I have glass lids on the tank (which I doubt have any real UV protection). But that is good information to know for the future.
  14. Ok all you iPhone owners out there.... any of you using an aquarium maintenance/log type program? I did a quick search the other day and it looked like there was only one out there, but didn't have that good of reviews. I know one of the automation devices has an app to monitor your tank. But I am looking for something to record when I dose, feed, etc. (Yes, I could write one .. and that is a possibility, but don't have the time right now as I am busy with other projects) -James
  15. I am replacing my 20K bulbs next week with 14K's, and was planning on adding multiple layers of screening above the tank to diffuse the light and help adjust the corals to the new bulbs. Any recommendations for how long of a process this should be? Doing a search in the forums yielded an answer of around 3 weeks. I would assume then I could do like three layers of screening, and each week remove one layer? Thanks ... been doing saltwater tanks for 20 years, but this is my first experience with MH. -James
  16. I think Truckin hit the nail on the head with his definition of FOWLR. The goal is to keep fish, and not corals. The "live rock" is used for hiding places and landscaping. In FOWLR tanks you can get away with using plain old fluorescent light fixtures.
  17. Woo wee ... that's a lot of pictures But it makes for great build documentation! The spot you have the tank is perfect, almost like it was always meant to have a tank there.
  18. Wow, you are correct (to both aquaman and Zara) .. I didn't notice how large the Marine Depot container was. A good deal
  19. Is the pistol a small white and red striped one? I have (and had) one of these, and they have never bothered my hermits, even in my smaller tank. Now, the larger pistol shrimps ... I can believe

Welcome! I don't know specifically if any of the stores carry the Prodibio, but you might just want to call around (we have the phone numbers for our sponsors on the main index page).
