  1. Tagging along to see what people have to say, seeing as I am a new clam papa.
  2. I agree with Rob. You have a great eye for picking out the angles for pictures.
  3. The lily with the shadow is my favorite out of this set. And the bee drinking is very unique. Heck, I like all of them
  4. That is a nice sized anemone. I am surprised the clowns didn't run right for it. What type of lighting do you have over the tank? As I recall, carpet anemones generally like more intense light.
  5. I would think you should notice courting activity if she was about to lay eggs. My damsels plump up right before they go into the mating dance.
  6. I think the camera washed out the color ... or possibly GIMP when I adjusted the white balance. It is a light green.
  7. Are your lights on? Like most other wrasses, six lines hide at night. They normally wedge inside of the rock work and wrap themselves in a mucus cocoon.
  8. Thanks. Just your run-of-the-mill green bubbletip anemone.
  9. I was going to recommend Sapphire Aquatics skimmers, because they had posted on nano-reef that they were working on a hang-in skimmer. But I don't see it on their store. I had good luck with my AP24 skimmer when I had my 24g Aquapod.
  10. I tried chasing him with the algae pad, but he wasn't afraid Here are some pictures of him guarding his prize.
  11. I like how you have the rock configured! The tank is going to look great once it gets established.
  12. Thanks guys and girls
  13. I survived my first attack from Mr. Have To Protect My Anemone. I think the anemone is resigned to the fact that it has to put up with the abundance of love this clownfish is giving it. Caught the clown trying to feed the anemone part of an algae sheet (when I was feeding my tangs and angel), and getting frustrated that the anemone was not eating it. I dare you to touch my anemone: Showing off his back side: And he isn't afraid of no clownfish:
  14. Not sure if this has been mentioned... and I know the blog portion is a bit buggy, but the e-mail subscription to a blog does not seem to work. I have subscribed to my own blog, and I don't get notified when people make comments.
  15. It is a standard 75g, so I think that makes it 18" deep? And I am running two 150W 14K MH's over it. The clam is pretty much centered under one of them.
  16. Will do. I have been max dosing the Mg, and things seem to be pretty static at the moment with the remaining acans that were affected.
  17. Ok, that statement is now false. The little booger went after me today while I was cleaning the inside of the glass. At least I was expecting it this time and didn't scream like a little girl
  18. They would definitely work ... but they would also be 3x the price (And this is from an Apple fan)
  19. Great pictures!! Like the rest, the second to last is awesome. Never knew they had such colors in them. And the clam mantle shots are very artistic
  20. During the cycle you will want to check Ammonia and Nitrites. You will see the Ammonia go up first, then the Nitrites, then both of them drop back down to 0. When that happens your tank is cycled. Until then, you can pretty much skip all the other tests (well, except salinity). This will save on the chemical testing supplies Don't think you would much heat issues, but depending on the strength of the lamp you plan on using, the side under the shelf is going to get a lot less light. Probably so much so that you won't be able to keep a lot of photosynthetic corals on that side. But, there are non-photosynthetic corals such as sun corals and certain gorgonians.
  21. That is a nice looking one. Glad it made the trip down from Dallas
  22. I am stocked up on calcium I wanted a maxi that prof had, but I didn't think my lights were intense enough to have it on the sandbed (n a rock).
  23. Good eye Yep, I have two in there. The black one, and the yellow on peeking around the brain. They get all around the tank. (And the jawfish is my favorite)
  24. Christian, Some friendly advice. It might be helpful for all if ran a spell checker before you make your posts And using somewhat proper grammar would help too. It took me a few tries to figure out "wate" = "wait" and "win" = "when". I realize this is the internet and people use shortcuts all the time, but for the sake of people trying to help you it would go a long way. Again, don't take this as anything negative. Just wanted to offer some advice.
