  1. It is a book about nano-reefs.... not sure of the name.
  2. That first picture is awesome! Great catch (and great looking anemone!).
  3. Hey, I wonder if I have that book, the title sounds really familiar... (just looked on Amazon, not the one I was thinking of...) They did offer a copy of the book, or cold hard cash. Since the cash exceeded the cost of the book, I am taking the money. I was just concerned about some identification copies they wanted, but it boiled down to stuff needed for tax purposes. Thanks!
  4. Is the six line swimming into the anemone? I agree, I have never seen that before with a six line. Of course, I should believe it, as my little clown goby likes to swim and sit inside my long tentacle plate.
  5. *whistles* That there be a nice pond! Thanks for sharing the pictures. And that is a great picture of the red dragon fly. Until the pond tour, we have never seen ones that bright red!
  6. This is the reason why my wife would never let me have some Harlequins ...
  7. I should have thought of that. Thanks! Sent him a PM.
  8. Has anyone here ever dealt with a publisher in selling pictures? I have one interested in some of mine, but I have a question about some things they want. I kinda want to ask it off-line, as I don't want to start a debate
  9. I saw one at Aqua-Dome yesterday.

    hello!!

Welcome! Wow .. 10g to 600g ... what a leap! Be sure to check out the info on the next ARC meeting on August 4th (at Headless_Donkeys house).
  11. Anemone's are picky about the flow and light. Prior to the aquascaping, it was probably in it's preferred spot. But by changing the rocks, you have altered the water flow and such. Truthfully, if the anemone is not deteriorating, then you should be OK. It should go on the move sometime to find a better spot (so watch out, as it might find a spot near some corals and sting them).
  12. 7756 Northcross Dr. Austin, TX 78757 They are not called Austin Aquariums anymore. I think they got bought out, and lst time I was up there, they didn't have a sign up on the building (but that was when we had the last meeting, so there might be a new name/sign now).
  13. This is more for the "scary photo" category, but it s not something you would usually photograph: (Click for larger image) Euncid worm I took a picture of as it was "helping" the cleanup crew with some excess mysid shrimp. It also helps itself to snails from time to time. Got rid of one during the great tank crash of 2007, still have another though
  14. And to add to this, if you have a tank with a false wall (like an Aquapod/NanoCube), you might check in the sump area.
  15. They hide at night the rockwork at night (in their slime cocoon), but during the day mine was always out in the open. Hopefully he is just being shy.... but of luck!
  16. Yup, that was my favorite The other amazing part to that (other than it's size), is it was in Lost Creek. Pretty typical looking subdivision ... would never have thought to see that in someone's back yard there! There is a pond under there??? I will take some off your hands if you want to bring them down to the August mtg....
  17. I have put up some pictures I took during the 2007 pond tour at: http://www.seahorsesoft.com/aps2007/ Sorry they aren't in any fancy viewing format, I just took some of the better pictures and threw them in a directory. It definitely was fun (but a bit tiring driving around both days). The house with the whole backyard converted to a waterfall was my favorite We got some good ideas on making future additions to our little pond. Enjoy! -James
  18. Good job! Want to come over and catch my sally lightfoot now?
  19. Bump .. the pond tour is happening this weekend (yes, I should have done this this morning!). We went to 8-10 ponds today .. very nice! I will post some pictures of the tour after tomorrow's journeys. Lots of great ideas to improve on our little pond. (Here is a link about the tour again.)
  20. I cringed when I watched that! (Typing this on my iPhone now)
  21. Adding another RSVP as my wife is planning on coming (she wants to see the seahorses )
  22. While my tank is pretty full at the moment (maybe I should have made that bubble tank into a new saltwater one .. ), I just wanted to chime in and say that SeaLifeInc has great stuff. I have ordered from them a couple of times and always received high quality items (both corals and fish).
  23. Great pictures! (I really like the crab pic). -James
  24. I use Reef Crystals here ....
