1. I guess it would depend if you are going to have any diggers in the tank... When I did my 24g to 75g upgrade, I used my existing rock and also added new rock. I first put the new rock in (touching the bottom), and added sand. Then once the tank stabilized over a week or so, I added my existing rock. With my existing rock, I just pushed it as far down into the sand bed as I could, as I had planned on getting a jawfish and pistol shrimp (both voracious diggers). (BTW, Welcome to ARC! I just noticed that was your first post )
2. I think SPS might be safe, since LTA's like to have their foot in the sand, so I doubt it would go wandering up on top of the rockwork (but anything is possible!). I would be more worried if you had a BTA, which is more of a rockwork anemone. But yes, an anemone can kill corals. I had a bubbletip kill some candy canes and mushrooms when I had the 24g. But in my current tank, I have seen zoa's doing fine sitting next to a bubbletip.
3. Not going to be able to make it to this one.. seems everything is happening this weekend.
4. +1 to this. I didn't see what you were talking about till I clicked on the larger picture. It almost looks like what this site calls a Green Sea Pansy.
5. I'll do 1 Red Sea Pro to give it a try.. it is almost time for me to get salt.
6. Welcome, and as other have said, thanks for the sponsorship!
7. Wow, that is some really nice looking stuff!
8. Tried that, but didn't seem to work for me. The Apstasia-X seals the mouth of the anemone shut, thus preventing it from releasing larvae when threatened.
9. I agree with the others, looks like along tentacle anemone to me ... and it looks awesome! I knew I should have got one with the group order today...
10. I have resorted to chemical warfare with my aptasia problem. I bought a bottle of Aptasia-X, and it has been working pretty well. A bunch of anemones died after the first treatment, and the others I just keep treating about once a week or so till they die. BTW, I have a bunch of peppermints in my tank, but they weren't touching the anemones at all either.
11. When we had mice in our attic, our pest guy gave me a bunch of green poison cubes which I scattered in the attic. He said they did the same thing, dehydrated them, so they mostly would leave to go outside and died. I have not had any foul smells in the attic since using them. I know the mice ate them, as there were nibble marks on the ones I could see. Haven't heard/seen the mice since. I believe you can get them at stores also.
12. This is really the best advice. You should see either way in a few days if it is going to make it. I would say as long as they have a grip on the rock, then things are heading in a good direction.
13. I agree, all of the sub forums are probably a bit overkill to start with. But possibly a few, one for fragging, one for growth, etc. Let's see what the boss man says in a few days.

Corals

Moving to the reef discussion area.
15. Moving this to the general discussions.
16. While I like the name for it's uniqueness, I would think we need a more generic name. I envision this new section to not only cover coral fragging, but live food rearing, macro algae growth (looks towards subsea ), etc.
17. Am seriously thinking about getting in on this order for an anemone and blue linka ... just trying to decide between a long tentacle or sebae.
18. +1 to contacting some of our sponsors. I am sure if they don't offer the service, they can point you in the right direction.
19. Wish I could claim is as my own thought, but another board (nano-reef) has an Aquaculture forum, so that is where I got it from
20. Good idea, but I would suggest calling it "Aquaculture".
21. Working and taking delivery of a group order... busy man!
22. Trying to watch the video... taking forever to download.....
23. Anyone can do it, just use the "" tag like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb9N3QyV3bc As far as becoming a Premium Member, you can click on the "Subscriptions" tab at the top of the page and it will step you through the process (I believe you can pay via PayPal that way). Or you can talk to Dave and Robin at the next meeting and pay them there. Your membership card can be picked up at a meeting or mailed to you.
