    No me gusta, sir. It's hard to justify the cost for a heater controller (apex, etc) but all it takes is one wipeout to make you change your mind. Godspeed.

    So i picked up an emerald crab at RCA during their first friday (BEER AND CAKE, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!). The more I read, the more I am concerned he is going to nip on my mushrooms and zoas. He has been hanging out on some rhodactis that I have, and it is making me uneasy. What are y'all experiences?

    I don't see any reason to seed it. Since it is essentially barren, it should colonize as if you were adding dry rock to a tank. Very cool and exciting!

    My gut reaction is to buy a bigger pump and just neck down the output. The engineers fuss at you for doing that though

    I think you've probably got some weird hydrodynamics happening with the multiple lengths of pipes + elbows. Something like this might mitigate that. 2" PVC in with 6- 3/4 inch pieces out.

    What aquifier are you getting chlorinated solvents from? I use Trinity Aquifier water straight out of the ground into my reef tanks.Why does ground water have chlorinated solvents? Patrick Surficial aquifers. You would be astounded at the quantity of shallow groundwater contamination that we have statewide as a result of heavy industry and oil and gas production. Luckily it only rarely affects the deep stuff that we use for water supply. And to answer the why, it was standard operating procedure to store wastewater in unlined pits.
