  1. Ive bought quite a bit from flexpvc through the years, mostly for my pond. They have a great selection of odds and ends fittings (3" clear PVC gate valve? Why not?!). Whoever is in charge of procuring sponsorships is doing a great job. Once we can afford an ARC Cadillac, I want a ride
  2. I didn't notice a sizable slime really, even prior to dipping. They look clean now, so we shall see. Luckily it was a cheapie colony, I'm more concerned that there is a systemic issue than something amiss with the zoas specifically. I have some other zoas and palys that seem happy, as is most of the rest of my tank. Dunno. I'm in real estate/closing/moving hell right now, so my tank is simultaneously a nice distraction and something I'd rather not be messing with.
  3. Oh no, not at all. The crab was gone before I did the dip. Some of my pieces have just looked particularly unhappy lately and I'm trying to figure out what is going on.
  4. Did the dip last night. Tossed the eyes of rah frag. I also lost an emerald crab yesterday, so I'm kind of scratching my head here. I'm looking around to see if my son dropped something funky in the tank...
  5. You'll be fine There are more than few folks who can help.
  6. great video. makes me wanna see his 1200 gallon tank.
  7. Yeah, i would think with your pillar/pile layout, that a cannon might be a more effective use of light. That is of course unless you plan on doing some sandbed placement.
  8. Hurrah! Way to distill your solution and find something that works. I would have folded and burned half a grand on an apex
  9. It's possible that the "7v" voltage out of the wart isnt actually 7v. It might be 10v. The only way to truly know is to measure or use the apex.
  10. Well that blows my theory out of the water. Sorry we can't be of more service. These things are always some little syntax or usage kink that screws things up :/
  11. I would be very hesistant about trusting the voltage from a wallwart. Check it out with a multimeter, but bio3 and I can help you whenever you get ready to hook up your apex. WE PROS.
  12. The move is scheduled for this coming week, so cross your fingers that underwriting goes through . I'll probably still need a week or two to get things settled and happy after the move. My son asks constantly how the fish are doing at the "fish doctor". I tell him they're doing great and are very happy in a big tank with some friends.
  13. Is it possible that it is the outlet configuration? What outlets are the pH's physically plugged into? Sometimes the 4 and 8 outlets are screwy depending on the load they pull. I would think that a PH would pull enough current to keep them on....Maybe time for an apex?
  14. Got some peroxide, gonna give it a shot tonight. I'll clip the dead heads and cross my fingers.

  16. You're not the only one with the weirdest, uh, LED related phenomenon.
  17. This is just meta code, but if youre going to use osc statements, then it needs to look like this: OSC 015/015 ON/OFF Then LeftPowerhead On OSC 015/015 OFF/ON Then RightPowerhead On The key with the left/right alternate is that the ON/OFF statements need to be in opposition. I can help you with the lower code if you can define the TIMER statement for me. I'm having to reverse engineer a bit going from apex to AC3
  18. So i picked up a nice colony of zoas two weeks ago. They looked fine at RCA, and ever since theyve been in my tank they rarely open, and just generally look pissed. Everything else in the tank (frogspawn, bubble, etc) seem very happy, but not so much for the zoas. My first two thoughts were my LEDs (24x3watt)@40% and too much flow (mp10@50%reef mode). Am i missing something?
  19. I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times, you are a scholar and a saint. How is the motley crue doing?
  20. I'll just make a euphemism for killing the algae. How about "flipping the donkey". As in, I'm going to need to remove these zoas before i can flip the donkey.
  21. Good points to all. I'll go the peroxide route. The zoa plug is too far gone, IMO, to salvage the plug in-tank. Anyone have advice for fragging single zoas and transplanting?
  22. Diagnosis confirmed, it's cotton candy algae. I think I'm just going to refrag my zoas, and bleach dip the other small corner of rock that currently has it. The affected areas are, in my opinion, too small to be readily cleaned up. I think I'm just gonna have to do it the old fashioned way.
  23. I've ogled over those many a time. What was the final price?
  24. Ok so i did some rubbing, its definitely not slime/cyano. It's fuzzy and resists a good brush with a finger.
