Give it some time, don't tear up your tank just yet. Unfortunately IME, bangaii's (I'm assuming bangaii) are a little more sensitive than they are billed as, especially if they are wild caught. They are also exceptionally hard to see looking at head on if they're mixed in with rock work. Check at night with a flashlight, their eyes are pretty reflecty.

if it were me, I'd think really hard about making a big change like going BB before you leave the tank in someone elses care. It'd be pretty devastating to come back to an algae farm.

That is what my GF tells me. I have posted my initial build in the "build" section. Hopefully, I will get this bad boy up and running with little issue. Oh no, I think I've created a monster . At least now I won't have to worry about sneaking in corals behind my partner's back. I'm pretty sure we're both screwed . broke fixed it for you

Damsels are are generally very agressive, and the same can be true for clown pairs. In a 16g, I'd give a long hard look at purple firefish. Coolest fish I own, and a perfect tankmate for just about everything.

Cool. Set up a tank thread in the reefkeeping forum. There are plenty of armchair aquarists here (not me of course) who can help you kick the tire and help you get where you wanna go. Are you a UT grad?

In terms of power consumption, yes you will be pretty inefficient. In terms of nutrient export, it should be effective. I own a 9002, and I do not believe that it will be sufficient for 60+ gallons, two may not even be sufficient.

there are many different methods for dipping, so you're probably best off doing a little bit of searching around and then coming back with pros/cons for a certain method. Personally i use coralrx for bugs/worms, and then a hydrogen peroxide dip for zoas to get rid of algae
