I was on vacation for 8 days and my fan went out. the tank got to ~86 deg. Didn't lose any fish. I few sps died but that was it. I doubt that was what did it. I would say a pathogen added from the wrasse. Start running carbon for sure, solved almost all of my new tank problems. Simplest way is to get some activated carbon and put it in the micron bag and put it in your filter sock or right over your return pump intake. I run GFO and Carbon 24/7 and use TLC aquacultured bacteria from Fishy Business and I have 0 nit, nitrate, phos, and ammon. Less headache for sure. you may also check your oxygen levels. I had a mass die off in a new tank I started, and figured out i had really low oxygen for some reason. added from flow and agitation and i'm stocked back up with no problems.

We'll I have it all hooked up and dosing small amounts of both alk and calc 5 times durng the night. I have already seen a difference in sps growth. And its only been 4 days.

I recently got a 3-4 inch frag of Roscoe's Blue from Don, and didn't realize I already had one from a large buy I recently made. I paid 10$ for it from him, I just want that same in return. It was on the substrate in his tank, has been on my frag rack for about 2 weeks, polyps extend and colors are good.

I ordered these glass tops and they don't fit the particular 75g I have, so I never used them. I paid 31.99 from dr foster n smith, and its going to cost 20$ to ship it back to them. Ok so my mag 18 is coming up 4ft to 2 return nossels. So is that 1400gph each or is that cut in half since I'm splitting it? Then that would tell me the difference I need to make up.

So my question is how strong is bad? Or whats a good gph to shoot for? These would be pointing towards where the sps is.

I have a 90 gallon reef which I've been adding a lot of SPS in. The flow in my tank is created by my mag18 return pump. I have no powerheads right now. I have noticed bubbles on the sps and some with poypls not extending as far as where I got them, as well as no flow directly affecting the high sps areas. Id like to add 2 koralias or something similar to send some flow directly to my sps areas, but I'm not sure how strong they should be. They would be about 8-10 inches away from the first piece of sps they would be directed at. Thoughts? Experiences?

You need to catch a good sale! Shane drilled my 90 over at fishy business, but I got the tank from Aquadome. just wasn't drilled, but was a better deal than anywhere else at the time.
