  1. I still may go full zeo later, but on a brand new tank. I was afraid to transition one that was already running. Plus I am already having success with bio pellets so I didn't want to mess with that either.
  2. How's your skimmate look after all that feeding It's black pretty much all the time.
  3. Lol, I feed..... Too much Probably 7-8 pinches of nls pellets daily 3 frozen cubes of mixed foods (mysis, brine, etc) daily And nori daily Occasional coral food every other day or so.
  4. Roland uses a regular old TLF reactor. I use a vertex reactor. No issues here, then again, I use it for Bio Pellets, but its meant for Zeo.
  5. Ok, so anyone have a 20g long stand they can part with that I can put a sump in?

  6. It's in a plastic cup at my house, did you want to come out to manor or me bring it to school off 290 and 35
  7. Replacing the 10g office tank with a bigger drilled one, 20g high, 20g long, or 29g?

Go Big or Go Home....and look at the large tank you have there. I would go with the 20L.

@Leakytree. I think thats what he does. Little tank in his office then goes home to his Texas Tank.

  8. I'll be pulling my GFO tonight in my 200 if you'd like it.
  9. called Petsmart looking for a 20g tall, and the fish guy started talking my ear off about Aquatek and DSA like I had no idea what they were, and trying to give me advise on how to setup a Saltwater tank. Gotta Love'em

  10. I've ordered multiple times from them, but I've never had this many shells I had to yank, they definitely give you extra.
  11. Did anyone else have a lot of dead snails in their order?
  12. Be careful of the corals coloration when using the SOLS, since they have no Red, Green, Yellow, or more so UV.
  13. Phosphates or nitrates. Check potassium also
  14. I measure ORP, it's not really needed, but you can see if something died or the skimmer is not pulling or etc, because your ORP will go down. But I really don't pay attention to the actual level, just it's raising and falling. I would think salinity is not needed if you check it regularly with a hydrometer or refractometer. A recent pic from Mr. Saltwater tank showed his salinity probe sitting at 35 ppm, and him saying its the most boring graph on his tank.
  15. as soon as the group buy opens
  16. i'm at like $250 so definitly free here.
  17. I've been without the pad for 3 weeks now.
  18. My recent status sparked a lot of questions and comments so I figured I'd make a thread about it. On a suggestion from Ty who has EXCELLENT polyp extension, I removed my filter pad from my SUMP. This intern left only skimming as my source of mechanical filtration. I have since seen a significant change in polyp extension. I took a few pics to illustrate. I've had both of these for 6+ months so they were definitely used to my system prior to the filter removal. Before After Before After There have been no changes in flow, or anything else. That being said, I would not reccommend trying this in your system unless you are already stable and have little to no Nitrates or Phosphates. Thoughts?
  19. Would be in for about $40.50 worth
