  1. I've been using AI blue sol leds since June with crystal clear tanks. I don't think it's your lights, unless it's just your units for some reason.
  2. I will have a few lps, some toadstool, and palau nepthea frags.
  3. Marine Depot refractometer. This works great but there's a little annoying catch. I got some calibration solution and found out it was reading a little low. Went to adjust it and I was only able to move the line down, not up. So it reads 15ppt lower than it really is. Ex. If you want 35ppt, you just look for 20ppt. I just bought a new one today and used it to make sure this one worked fine. It matched the new one perfectly for several different water samples. I figure someone can use it instead of it going in the trash Located near Slaughter & Manchaca
  4. Those fish are so awesome. I'd definitely have one if I had a big tank. I love to watch them when I stop by. Speaking of that, they just got a very nice assortment of corals in. I barely made it out of there without going broke.

    Oh really...

How funny! I always get the gsp compliment too. Oh and my mom that thinks aptasia is neat looking. :-\
  6. I've had the same trouble. I don't know anything about cameras, but turning down the blues or turning the white up helped.
  7. I don't know anything about foundations, but if I remember correctly, sodium salt really doesn't move out of the soil, so be sure you never intend anything not salt tolerant to grow there. Most plants aren't.
  8. This tank is seriously worth buying a frag or two just to have an excuse to drool over it. It's full of only the nicest corals. It's definitely one of the cleanest and nicest tanks I've seen. Thanks for letting me stop by!

    free live sand

About 2.5 gal of pink aragonite with a little black sand mixed in. Tons of spaghetti worms and other critters. This was in my tank for less than 2 years, and covered an 18”x20” area 3” deep or so around the rock. Let me know fast if interested, it won't be alive for long...

    Coral ID

I spoke too soon. I finally got a view of it and there are tentacles all over it. It's such a cool little coral. Good call guys! Thanks for the other ideas Timfish. I'll keep them in mind as this grows.
  11. Awesome! It was nice to meet you too.

    Coral ID

Very cool! Timfish, I sure hope that's what happens with this one. That would be so neat. If it is a fungia does it have to be a certain size before it starts to put out the little tentacles? This one doesn't have any that I've seen, but until a few days ago it wasn't where I could see it well. It also looks similar to a blasto polyp a little, though I've never seen one this color before. I'll keep an eye out for tentacles. Thank you!
  14. Green lace and purple plume gorgs gone.
  15. Okay, everything is currently pending. Thanks guys!

    Coral ID

Any idea what this is? It was a dead looking skeleton on the rock of a coral I bought a while back. I noticed soon after that it had colored up and now it's about the size of a dime. Here are some pictures. The skeleton looked like a plate coral, sort of? I cut it off the rock, so the white stuff underneath is just the new super glue.
  17. I have a big clump of dragons breath macro and several smaller pieces. It's beautiful!! It's grown very well in low light and really easy to keep. I live way south off of Slaughter and am pretty flexible for pick up this weekend. Gone
  18. ***All coral have been dipped in flatworm exit and placed in qt. I have red planaria in the main tank that these were pulled out of. Also, I live way south off of Slaughter. Sold Silver gorgonian - 7" tall, photosynthetic, fast grower, very hardy $15 Sold Purple ribbon gorgonian - 10" tall, about 3" spread, photosynthetic, sheds more often than others, a little more temperamental $15 Pending Red finger gorgonian - 4" tall, 3 branches, non-photosynthetic, needs filter feeder food (I can include with purchase), has been very happy in my tank with some growth, goes through periods of being closed up, no shedding $10 Sold Green star polyps - 6" x 3", grew out from a plug onto the sandbed, so not on a rock or anything, very dark metallic green $5 Sold Superman monti frag - 1.5" x 1" I had this on my skimmer box and popped it off, polyps occasionally show up other colors almost rainbow $15 Pending Confusa monti - this was a big piece that had a lot of die-off several months ago. It is starting to grow again and could definitely use some fragging. Bright green with maroon polyps. $5
  19. ****All coral have been dipped in flatworm exit and placed in qt. I have red planaria in the main tank that these were pulled out of. Small unknown gorgonian Large devil's hand on rubble 3 small frags of candy cane 5" fox coral - this has been suffering lately in my tank and the tissue has receded from one end. The rest of the coral still opens and looks fine, but this needs some tlc.
  20. They do have some very neat things in. I was impressed with the leds too! Great pics of the pond. I've been enjoying seeing the neat unusual fish upstairs.
  21. All gone - I have 4 mangroves for sale, all different sizes. $8 ea
  22. Welcome to the club! Do you have a tank already?
