  1. You can have a tank with just macros, I didn't mean it to sound like you couldn't, but in that case I would consider adding strait up plant fertilizer. You'll get there though! You have much more patience than the average reefer
  2. IMHO you're adding macro way too early. It's silly to feed your tank just to feed algae. Get your fish first then add the macro. My lagoon didn't start doing well until it was fully stocked with fish.
  3. Definitely option 1 but light does play into it. Lots of light is going to push the growth and it'll need more nutrients.
  4. Yes it is weird. I haven't dropped it (yet) or anything and there's no damage to anything else
  5. It's already looking better. I somehow got a crack in the glass on my phone camera lens, so my pictures are looking kinda weird.
  6. I'm a little late, but here's my final stocking, nothing has changed since last month as far as adding anything. The stocking and equipment list are found in the first few posts on this thread.
  7. Oh no, that's a custom reef spectrum that I'm definitely keeping. This is a standard super actinic I picked up for another project. 2 different lights
  8. You can just have it, I'll pm you
  9. I took the picture yesterday and forgot to post it. Here it is. It's in a very awkward place to try and get a picture, so hopefully you can get an idea anyway.

Wow that tank has sure come along. It's looking great!
  11. Yes, both are gone to be watered by other people and not me
  12. Selling my beautiful little 8gal tank. Made from curved starfire glass, rimless, has 3 chambers in back, stock pump, stock light. I don't see any scratches but it certainly has some tiny ones I would think. It has feet so it sits up off the surface a bit. I found that very useful for cleaning up water drips that ran down the glass. This was a great little tank for me. I decided to shut it down and just keep my new 90 and little 3g pico. Comes with just the tank and light, it's empty and all cleaned up. Here is the 2013 version on their website: http://www.cadlights.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=46&products_id=184 Here's the listing I bought it from: http://www.austinreefclub.com/topic/21424-cadlights-starfire-8g-sold/?hl=cadlights I live south, off of Slaughter, cash or PayPal.
  13. Super actinic reef spectrum fixture from BML. 12" fixture 15 LEDs 90 degree beam angle. This was hooked up and used for about a week and I decided not to keep the tank. $124 + tax new, asking $100 Dimming kit $10 Apex BML dimming cable $10 I'm located off of Slaughter, cash or PayPal, open to some trades.
  14. How cool! I'm glad to see you have some fun bigger stuff to watch.
  15. I have a small piece of bright blue photosynthetic sponge on a frag plug. I can get a pic tomorrow when the lights turn on.
  16. Do you have a picture somewhere of how things are organized in your stand?
  17. When I had my lagoon the algae went sexual several times until I started feeding very heavy and often. This happened especially at the beginning. I think it was just an acclamation process. Don't worry about it going sexual. I've had it happen so bad that I could barely see in the tank. I just would bring my powerhead close to the surface for extra agitation. Neither the fish nor the coral ever acted like it was a problem. The water would soon clear itself up and go back to normal. These have been my experiences. I'm sure subsea will pipe in on this. My take is that you don't have enough nutrients yet to keep as much macro as you added alive. Oh and the clear/whitish leaves are it going sexual.
  18. I see! That makes sense especially for the lights. They turn off when fully dimmed, these a360's don't do that moonlight setting when fully dimmed like the a350's
  19. I did not use enough tape, only a couple wraps. Thankfully Tim is coming over to save the day! Whew...
