  1. I put in the tube but had to leave it, so it has a pretty long piece down in the pipe. It's much much quieter even without adjusting the length! Later today when I have time to play with it I'll see if it gets any quieter. Thanks for the help, this makes such a huge difference in the noise level! The maggie muffler I got is just 2 pieces, the main part is all one piece, not 3 like the website diagram, and then an insert so it sits on the 1"pipe.
  2. Thank you! Mine is doing the same, a whistle with a flushing sound every so often. The whistle is constant and loud, like a tea kettle. I'll try the tube idea.
  3. I just got a maggie muffler in the mail, the mini for my 1"pipe. It completely silences the draining noise but now there's a loud whistle. I'm not sure which is better lol Any ideas how to fix it? Maybe drill another hole on top?
  4. I'm really happy to see you're getting good results from it!

I forgot some stuff about the kessils. You can turn them from white to very blue. My plan is to control both the intensity and color with the apex, beginning with a dim setting of all blue going all the way to full on and white light then back to dim and all blue.

I agree with what victoly said, just go with the full apex. I have the narrow 360 kessils and the spread is a lot wider than I expected. I'm so glad I didn't go with the wides. If you're planning on corals that like more light I'd definitely consider the narrow one. I can see what the angle is that mine are putting out if you want, it's easy to see if I stir up a little sand and cloudy the water.
  7. Those are all great corals! People give away xenia all the time for free, so you wouldn't have to buy that one. Also just be prepared for it to take over your tank like a weed.
  8. Your tank is really coming along! Will the aragamight be added slowly over time this way vs adding it directly to the tank all at once?
  9. Happy birthday! I hope you have a great day! And yes, thank you for everything you've done for arc!
  10. Wow, what a great write up! Good for you for staying under budget, that's a feat in itself. The hood/canopy is beautiful!
  11. I'm going to try and make it! I'll have kids with me.
  12. There are so many options for lighting! I have a Build My LED fixture over my pico and it's doing excellent. I'm really happy with the light.
  13. The big chitons from reef cleaners definitely eat it. I've only seen them stay on rock though. In the case of glass, I think a razor blade is your best bet.
  14. Oh no! I didn't know fish did that, sorry that happened

That's a beautiful rbta! He sure got in a funny position.
  16. The new scape looks great! That's cool you got it stable with those neat overhangs.
  17. That rockscape looks fantastic!! Are the rocks on the side far enough away from the glass that you can get your glass cleaner in between?
  18. Welcome back to the club! Your tanks sound nice, I'm looking forward to pics.
