It might not be beneficial but my favorite time of day to stare at my tank is when the lights have dimmed to blue in the evening. Everything pops and the lower light is really enjoyable. In general I like to see the tank lit differently throughout the day. My apex has been disconnected for a while so I've been using a plain ol timer and lost the ability to change the intensity and spectrum. I sure miss it and can't wait to get the apex hooked back up!

That's beautiful! Love the aquascape too. Do you have a couple long, smaller holes for it to live in? Mine spends most of it's time in a rock like that even though I have lots of caves in my scape. It's not the same type of eel but I'd imagine they like the same spaces.

I wish I could take it! I just don't have any algae growth. Good problem to have but it means no urchins. Glws!

Yes, most likely from reeftown now. I was waiting to see if salty underground was only sold out of their sale ones and would have some regular price today but that doesn't seem to be the case. The ones I ordered last time were from reeftown and it was a great experience (minus the cost, wow) so might as well order there again.

Is that a certain type of filefish? Do you have a pic? I think a lot of LFS have been selling the matted filefish as the aiptasia eating filefish. It's really hit or miss. The last time I tried one, it swam by a rock with 3-4 aiptasia on it daily and never ate them. It did, however, devour a good assortment of zoas before I realized it was the one doing it. Yeah I'm pretty sure it's just a matted filefish. He's pretty good at changing colors and turning green when hanging around my vast algae beds but he has never touched any of my zoas, and I have 4 different zoa colonies. Just like some fish that nip corals, it's probably hit or miss Okay, thanks!
