  1. Congrats Mike and thanks for taking it on! Thank you Andrew
  2. Is this still on? I need $30 or so.
  3. I don't know what those are, but nice shots! I love finding neat little things going on in my tank. I hope they're something good
  4. Yep, definitely basket stars. I posted a while back a very similar wth is this thing post They are a lucky find but require very special care and rarely survive captivity. Definitely read up on it. Two of the members of maast have them and they are thriving. Lucky find!!
  5. Oh, that sucks. Sorry that happened! Any idea why it cracked? Did everything survive?
  6. Maybe try a razor blade? Just to be sure it's not something you can get off.
  7. Thanks for the reply. Those are good ideas for the algae. Any advice on the flatworms and dinos? I've read of people using flatworm exit as a dip. My main concern are the dinos. They can sure take down coral fast. I'd hate to spread those.
  8. I would wait, just to be certain. A spike of ammonia is going to be bad news for your seahorse. If you just really need to get it in there, be sure to add a good amount of prime each day until you're sure there's no cycle. Oh and throw in an airline too if you do that. Prime ties up oxygen. What type of seahorse did you get!? :-) P.S. Biocubes seem to get fairly hot all closed up and a lot of seahorses need to stay below 74 degrees.
  9. I have recently bought a new-to-me established tank. I'm still having the algae problems in my 47g and now am also in middle of a flatworm outbreak and dinos in there (fun times =/ ) I would like to attempt to save some of the struggling coral from the 47 and move it into the new tank, but I don't want to transfer any of the problems, especially the dinos. Any recommendations for dips/treatments for the coral I want to transfer, or is this just a bad idea?
  10. Incredible job! It looks SO good!
  11. Very cool. I love the eel, and nice job on the canopy. Are you installing a diy led fixture or buying one?
  12. Welcome! Sorry about your fish, that's always hard, especially after having them so long.
  13. Wow! You sure found a perfect spot for that tank! Your idea sounds really neat. Good luck with everything
  14. I have 3 of those snails. I'm not sure of the name but I love those guys! Hard workers and live forever. I've had mine at least 2 or 3 years. I've never seen them hurt a thing. And there's no way anyone at the dome would've outright sold you a bad snail. They really do know about pests. I hope your zoas recover and grow back. I have about 50/50 luck with zoas growing vs.melting or staying closed up.
  15. That's great. Welcome back!
  16. Stories like that are one of the reasons I went with them for my led lights. That's great! I hope this fixes it and your lights are up and running soon! On a side note, did the whole stand fall, or did the units slip off of the railing? I've read a few accounts of the units sliding right off of the railing. I wish they would include washers or something to plug the ends and fix this very silly problem...
  17. Wow, looks like you're off to a great start with that frag collection.
  18. Thank you for the responses. I'll worry more about the temp. I hope this goes well...

    Hello ARC.

I don't know about the store, but welcome! What are your plans for your tank?
  20. Happy birthday! Hope it's a great one
  21. I have 2 seahorses that need a freshwater dip. I know the procedure, what to look for, etc, but I've never adjusted any parameters of freshwater before. How do I match pH of the freshwater to the saltwater the seahorses are in? I have a pH meter. Should I use treated tap or rodi? I figure the pH of my tap is very very high and might be difficult to lower but might stay more stable. I am very vaguely familiar with some pH up and down products. Safe to use? I'm pretty lost Thanks for any advice!
