  1. How about something like this Lift
  2. My phosphates were reading ~0 before I added the reactor, but I assume this was because the Bryopsis was consuming it to grow. The media I am using in the reactor is PhosBan by Two Little Fishes.
  3. So today I added a Phosban reactor from two little fishes. My question is....How often should I replace the media inside of it? TIA Charles
  4. Our Sponsor Dave at EpicReef does acrylic work.

    PC Bulbs

Well I ordered the new bulbs, but I think in 6 months when I have to do it again I am going to upgrade my ballast and bulbs from 18watt to 27watt.

    PC Bulbs

Unfortunately Hellolights.com doesn't carry any 18watt PC Actinics (just the 50/50s). So I am going to order them from nanocustoms.com where I got them originally.

    PC Bulbs

Thanks for the info. My bulbs are JUST past 6months old so guess I will order some new ones.
  8. I think the old MP10 is in the $190 range but the new Ecotech ones cost more.

    PC Bulbs

Is it necessary to follow this schedule if the bulbs are just Actinics?

    PC Bulbs

How often should you replace PC Bulbs? Every 6 Months? 9 Months? 1 Year? TIA Charles
  11. I think they go for ~$250
  12. Aside from the fact that you generally don't want an aquarium near other expensive electronic equipment. The only concern I would have is that the aquarium may be on the same electric circuit as you other equipment. Due to the high electrical demands of todays aquarium lighting I would recommend that it is on it's own circuit not shared with a lot of other devices. Best of luck and welcome to ARC.
  13. Use it as a fry tank or raise mysis/brine shrimp in it for your main tank.
  14. Unfortunately the current version of the software only allows display of information on a computer or iPhone(software from 3rd party). The 2.0 version of the software that is in beta right now is supposed to add additional functionality. I can't wait.
  15. I would have mounted the head unit for the controller in a more easily accessed location, you find yourself messing with it a lot as you add new programs for different equipment. Luckily it comes with a nice long cord (I have mine mounted on velcro outside my cabinet so I can access it easily. Just my 2 cents. Charles
  16. Ok couple more details. I have my own RO/DI with dual TDS Meters (incoming is 14ppm, output is 0ppm). I don't have any hair algae on my sandbed, and I grow Cheato in my tiny refugium and have Halimeda growing in the corner of my tank. I am also running carbon in the filter (Chemi-pure Elite), also I run my skimmer "wet". I would love to put a lawnmower blenny in my tank because I think they are cool, but my tank is too small for one.
  17. So I am fighting hair algae in my tank currently. All my water parameters test just fine (of course Phosphates are 0 since the algae is using it). I am running Ferric Oxide in my filter and have been doing regular water changes. I have cut back on my feeding to every other day, but so far I haven't seen any improvement. I have some turbo snails and I think they are afraid of the hair algae since I never see them get close to the stuff. So I am looking for other natural methods of dealing with it. I have been contemplating getting a Sea Hare from "Mama", but I am open to other suggestions as well. I am somewhat space restricted since this a 28g cube tank. Thanks, Charles
  18. My condolences to your wallet. I could never live that close to Laura and still be able to afford food, let alone shelter.
  19. Only if they are pickle spears and not chips.
  20. I won't be able to make it to the meeting on Sat. but don't worry about it. We can work it out when at another time, just come get the desk.
  21. Anything other than sps would be great! A small frag of zoas?
  22. The legs are not easily removed unfortunately, we would have to partially disassemble them. However I do have ALL the original manuals and spare parts that came with the desks. Currently I have them assembled in the "L" Desk setup, but they can easily be converted back to 2 separate desks. Dimensions: Main Desk: 60" x 28" x 30" Return Desk: 48" x 22" x 30" Charles
